Un vidrio y un voto quebrados (A broken Glass and Vow)

Not long ago, I met this woman, her name is Aldria. Aldria is a university student studying Liberal Arts. She’s not a top student, but she always makes sure that every single detail of her school life is smooth sailing. Also, as I continue my journey, there is a guy named Elmer. Elmer is also the same as Aldria, but they are in the same program but the different universities. Elmer is a member of the top organization in his school, especially the Student Association. He is active in every single event that they have in school. Not just only that, he is the heartthrob of his program.

During the Summer Semester, Aldria’s school and Elmer’s school decide to have an exchange student program. Unfortunately, Aldria did not represent their school. On the other hand, Elmer has been chosen to be the exchange student to study at Aldria’s university. Time passed by, and still, the school continue. On the mid-day of Wednesday, both of them are having their meals with friends and acquaintances. Aldria passed by on Elmer’s table, and luckily Elmer notices her because of the different charm that Aldria has. After that incident, they just continue their own life; Time for their class, both parties left the cafeteria and headed to their studies and start their course according to the time allotment.

Time for Ethics class and what a small world! Aldria and Elmer are classmates. Not far from Aldria’s seat, Elmer moves a little bit near to her. He wants to start the conversation, but unfortunately, his shy nerves over-ruled him. (FAIL!) The class started, and they were both listening to their professor. In the middle, of course, the professor made groupings for their Theoretical study on human behaviour. Fortunately, Elmer and Aldria are in the same group. (WOW! GOD IS SO GOOD! WAHAHAHA!!). In their group, they just study human behaviour. Elmer cannot resist asking Aldria personally, so he tried his shot again. (Hope it will work). Finally! Elmer talked to Aldria. They still in class, and the professor called the day, and every single student moved. They are walking on the corridor when Elmer asks Aldria some stuff and other things.


Months passed by, and the exchange student program is almost over, these two got them both nerves and because of really close friends. On a Friday afternoon, Elmer called Aldria and asked if they can go out and watch movies. Aldria said yes, and everything is set for the Saturday night. Saturday night came, and the two are already at the Cineplex Odeon at Yorkdale. They watch “Eat, Pray, and Love” starring Julia Roberts. As they watch the movie, Elmer made a move, and Aldria just ignores it. After the movie, they give compliments about the film and look for some food to eat. As they pass along Avenue Road, they saw McDonald’s and dine there. They talked and talked finished their food.


At 2:30 in the morning, Elmer dropped Aldria in her apartment and bid goodbye. What a perfect night for the two. Sunday came, and they are both doing their projects and papers. Elmer called Aldria if he can go to her place, and Aldria just said, “Okay, you can come to my place.” 3 passed 5 in the afternoon, Elmer knocked, and Aldria opened the door. Aldria stopped what she was doing. She entertained his guy and offered something to eat or drink. After that, they studied together and finished both assignments and papers. It’s already 12am, and there’s no bus passing on Aldria’s place. “You can stay in my place if you want to,” Aldria said to Elmer. “Is that fine with you?” Elmer asked. “Of course, who are you in my life? You are no longer a stranger to me,” Aldria said to Elmer. Aldria gives some pillow and a blanket to Elmer, and after that, she went to her room.



Elmer cannot sleep, so he went to Aldria’s room and see if she’s really sleeping. He saw Aldria sleep soundly, so he went back where he sleeps. “This is a perfect night!” Elmer said. He closes his eyes and sleeps. Sunshine breaks the darkness, and both of them are awake already. Monday already, and they are not yet done with their papers for Wednesday. Elmer was rushing, going home to shower and fix himself. Aldria, on the other hand, already prepared and all set for school.


9 passed 5 in the morning, she arrived at school headed to the library and study more. Elmer, on the other hand, was in the middle of trouble in the subway and trying to catch his time for class. Almost 9:30 and Aldria headed to her first class, and still, Elmer is on his way. Finally, Elmer arrived and led to his first-class.



Time is fast approaching and….



“Oh, boy! Finals already in one day and Exchange students are done,” Elmer said to Aldria.

“I know, eh…it made me feel bad and sad at the same time,” Aldria said.



A long silence came and….



“Aldria, I have something to tell you?”

“What is it?”

“Uhhhmmmm...Uhhhmmm….”

“Tell me you made me nervous.”

“I like it. I do really like you.”

*Blushes*

“Really!”

“I am serious about this”



Both of them cannot explain what’s going on, and they let the finals came and do their thing. Exams are done, and they see each other in the cafeteria and…



“Elmer, I have to tell you this.”

“What is it?”

“Can we go somewhere else, it’s kinda noisy over here?”

“Okay”



They moved the atrium of the school and sat down on a bench and



“Elmer”

“Yes, Aldria”

“Uhmmm…Uhmmm”

“Tell me.”

“I like you too.”

*SHOCKED*

“So you feel the same way that I feel for you.”

“Yes”



The two of them were glad that their friendship turned into mutual understanding; Tears burst out, hugs and kisses are roaring like a clap of thunder. But



“If I said yes to you, can you keep that promise?”

“Yes, I will.”

“Are you a hundred percent sure?”

“Yes, I am.”



Classes are done, and Elmer will be going back on his university with a new girl in his life the same with Aldria. Time passed by, and they still see each other and continue that love they form for the past months of the exchange student program. Fall semester has already started, and they still see each other, but months are getting crazier, so they would not see each other often. Three months passed by, and Elmer was being hooked up with a girl and…



*Ringgggg….Ringggggg*

“Hello”

“Hi Hubby! This is Aldria. How are you?”

“I am good, and you.”

“Just tired of doing school stuff.”

“aw.okay then.”

“Do you want to see me?”

“If you are not busy.”



Time is rushing so fast like a speeding hyena and some not good reason Elmer got into something not so good. And…



*Ringgg….Ring*

“Hello”

“Hi Hubby, this is Elmer”

“Hey what’s up?”

“Nothing much, can we meet today? I have something to tell you.”

“Where and what time?”

“12 noon at Eaton Centre.”

“Where at Eaton?”

“Food Court”

“Okay, I’ll see you then.”



Aldria did her stuff and rushed leave her apartment, and finally, she came on time and…



“Hey Hubby”

“Hey!”

“How are you? It’s been a long time..”

“I know, eh?! Where do you want to sit?”

“Anywhere”

“Okay, let’s go to the corner table.”



They sat down on the table and Elmer bought food for both of them and….



“Aldria, I have something to tell you..”

“What is it?”

“uhhhmmm…”

“Tell me!”

“I am so sorry I broke my promise to you.”



*SHOCKED and CRYING.”



“What are you talking about?”

“I have this girl that I slept with, and she got pregnant.”

“WTH!”

“You said to me that I am the only girl! But WHY! WHY!”

“I am so sorry.”

“I hate you, ELMER!”

“You made me stupid! I try my best not to cling with other guys, and yet you have done this thing to me! HOW DARE YOU?!”



Elmer tries his best to chased and talked again to Aldria, but he missed her up. Aldria cried hard as she could and…



*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCHHHH!!!!!!*



Aldria was being bumped by a Ford Flex, and the driver ran away. People saw the incident, and some of them called the 911. Every reporter went there to report the incident. Elmer saw the crowd and…



“Sir what’s going on?”

“There was a girl, and she was bumped by an SUV.”

“Can I see it sir…please…

“Okay, as you wish.”



Elmer cannot believe that Aldria was the girl who bumped by an SUV. He blamed himself for that situation and cannot imagine that the girl who loved him so dearly is dead already. He cried so hard that his eyes are popping out like popcorn.



The news was already spread out, and Aldria’s closet friends are there weeping because of their lost friend. Family, Faculty, Everyone who knows her; Aldria’s friend blames Elmer for what he has done to her, and he cannot visit Aldria’s wake and funeral.



Elmer cannot accept the fact that her girl is dead, so he decided not to have girls after all the incidents that happened.

Time of Passion

Let me tell you a story of love and passion, but it ended up in pain. By the way, I am Protacio. I am just a merchant living in a small town of Florence. I am not only a simple merchant; I am a wandering merchant travelling around Florence and outside Florence to sell my beautiful items. I just want to share the story of two beloved couples who dearly love each other, but it ended up in sorrow.
In the year when the industrial revolution is starting, there are a lot of new things going on. New structures are being put up, printing presses are beginning to print news for the masses, and passionate men and women are blooming. One day, I was preparing my stuff in a small corner in the dock of Sicily, I saw a pretty lady. This Lady was so adorable, finesse, and well-educated; she is not just an ordinary lady, a lady of one court of Sicily.

The Lady’s name was Delanna. Delanna was the daughter of a duke in Sicily. She was walking in a busy hall of a fuzzy market where all merchants are there to sell beautiful and elegant things that they brought from there provinces.


As this Lady walks to the market, he saw a peasant guy. Though this guy is peasant, he has a substantial value of patience, hard work, and perseverance. The guy’s name is Lucio. Lucio was an orphan guy who lives by himself since the age of 15. These two persons had a different status in their lives, but they have one in common, their principles in life.

During the mid-afternoon of God’s Sabbath, Lady Delanna decided not to go straight home. She went again on that fuzzy market to see what she could get on those merchants like me. As she walks to the vague market, she was bumped by an infamous robber and took her purse. She shouted so loud so that she could get help from the market people. A lot of men, including yours indeed, chased that infamous robber up to the end corner of the market.

Luckily, Lucio was in the end corner of the market. He noticed that there was something wrong, and the people were chasing someone, and Lucio saw that they were chasing the infamous robber of that market. He helped those men, and finally, he caught the robber and got the purse of the Lady. Lucio walked down to the fuzzy market to look for the owner. He found out that the Lady was in a lovely stall where a lady merchant comforts her because of that happening. The peasant guy went there and gave the purse of the Lady. Before providing the bag, the guy was mesmerized by her beauty. He never thought that he will meet a beautiful yet enchanting lady in person. As he gave the purse, the Lady was so thankful because the bag was being returned to her. Before living, the lady glances at him but just a little bit.

Another day of the working day, busy merchants, busy market and most of all, new ships are on the dock. Still, the poor peasant guy is working for his living. The Lady visits the pier to see the peasant. She looks around and asks everyone if they know him. Finally, there was the colleague of the peasant told her that he was resting in their humble resting place. After requesting that thing, the Lady was accompanied by that man to their humble resting place. Facing the front door, the girl knocked and asked where the boy who saved her purse from that infamous robber yesterday was. One of his colleagues calls him. Finally, they met up and talked.

They could not imagine that they could speak so close without any status difference. Delanna and Lucio just talk and talk until they reach noon. It’s noon already, and it is time to dine. The Lady invites the peasant guy in a fancy bistro, but the peasant guy decline. Delanna tried her best to persuade him, and finally, Lucio grants her invitation. They walk and look for a bistro to have their lunch. Finally, they found a fancy restaurant yet a cheap one. The Lady asked for two seats, but the owner declines her request because of her companion. Finally, they were granted because of the Lady’s story of his heroism last God’s Sabbath noon. They sat in a beautiful banquet and waited for their server.
Finally, the server came, and they got their table-de-hote menu and tell their order. As these lovers wait for their server to serve their fabulous meal, the owner gave them complimentary champagne for their food. 

Finally, their food came, and the server told them that the owner will make their meal free because of the peasant’s heroism. They enjoy their meal and stay there as long as they want. It was mid-dusk, and they did not notice that they should go back to their homes. They went out of the bistro and thank the owner for the food and champagne. They walked back to the dock and bid goodbye to each other.
Night of workday and the road was lit by lamp candles, the Lady went home with a smile on her face and twinkling eyes. The duke notices that his daughter went home so late and fulfilled. (Oh, I almost forgot! The duke was a grumpy and iron-fisted man. He hates peasants and merchants). The Lady went to her room to be clean by her nurse and set for a good night’s sleep. Before sleeping, surprisingly, her father visited her in her room and asks her a few questions. After asking those unusual questions, the Lady went to sleep and think of him.

Another workday, same old thing, same music and the same people are there. Delanna is there again to see her lover and talk to him also. They talk again all they long, and it ended up in a good relationship. Same old story,

the Lady went home the night of workday doing the same old routine that she has inside their magnificent chateau. The duke notices that there is something strange happening with her daughter. The duke decided to hire an emissary to oversee his daughter. The duke said to his emissary that he must not be noticeable by her daughter and other people. The duke and the emissary agreed to the contract and compensation.
The old days are passing by, and they still continue their affair without noticing the emissary of the duke. One weekend, they meet in a beautiful commons where the lovers are always dating and staying. Delanna went there wearing beautiful clothes that she has. As she looks for her better-half, she saw a merchant selling gold. She stopped for a moment and bought a pair of gold rings. She bought the ring and continued to look for her better half. Finally, they met up in the open hall of the commons.

They talk for a long time, cuddle each other, and finally, they gave gifts for each other. They peasant guy gave a particular thing that he got from her mother when she was seven, and he kept it so that he can give it to her special someone that he will marry. The Lady got her gift from her purse. She got the pair of gold rings that she bought from the gold merchant, and she gave the piece to the peasant. After giving gifts to each other, they went to a motel, and they decided to make some romance.

Without any further notice, the emissary of her father went back to report to the duke. The duke heard a lot from his emissary, and finally, he became well inform and well fed up with the information. The duke ordered his officials to capture both of them and send them back to the chateau.
Happy night of weekend for the couple who mend to be together and decided to tie a knot on the next day, but a misfortune for the Lady’s grumpy the father who knows everything about them. It was before mid-night when the officials came in the motel. The couple was so shocked and terrified of what’s going on. They were arrested and brought to the chateau. They saw the duke, and the duke was holding a whip to punish the two. No explanation asked; the duke sends the peasant guy to the chateau’s dungeons, and the 

Lady was sent to her room and locked her forever. After how many months, the duke learned that the Lady was pregnant. The duke called a doctor to abort the pregnancy of her daughter. Hesitantly surrendering herself, the Lady was tied up to her bed, and the abortion was done. Delanna was so sad about that event, and she could not move on because of the pain from the doctor’s procedures.
Down to the dungeons, the peasant guy was so weak and nearly to his final breath, he was tortured by the Lady’s father. The peasant was killed by the tormentors who have been paid by his soulless father. The Lady learned from her nurse that her lover was dead already; she wept all day and all night tied up on her bed, still feeling the pain of her abortion wounds.

After she cried, she saw a sensitive material that the doctor uses for abortion. She took it and unties herself, and after untying herself, she killed herself. The duke, her infamous father, learn that thing also. The duke was so terrified of the daughter’s death. Without any further announcement, everyone in the household from royalties and servants gave this couple a simple funeral behind the chateau.

What a sad love story, eh! Why this supposed to happen to these two beautiful persons. They just love each other, and they are good examples of strong principles. I wish to tell you that love can be painful; sometimes, it is sweet. Not all lovers like them are fortunate. Sometimes you need to face hardships and obstacles. I just want to say thank you for listening to me, and I need to go now. Aye! I need to move to another town to see other lovers whom their love is like Delanna and Lucio. So long, my dear friends. This is Protacio, and I am glad to meet you, my friend.

Welcome to My World!!! 

I know that I have already a short introduction about myself on the side bar but still I want to introduce myself once again. I am an avid fan of William Shakespeare since High School and I am dedicating this blog to him. I am not doing review about his book or whatsoever; but I am writing short stories in accordance with his principles and ideology. 

Most my stories or poems will be a mixture of old style english and modern english. Just follow this blog and you will just notice it. It's hard to explain but I got comments from other people before that they like my style; but I want  you to judge it and share it.  

So once again welcome and hope you enjoy this blog site.
